About the Market
What we are
NVC Market is a New Vibe City Public Enterprise (NPE). We are owned by the city and operated by Brain to ensure every citizen has reliable access to food.
We are not a corporate grocery chain, a boutique food experience, or a wellness concept. We are the place where NVC citizens buy food. We provide raw ingredients to cook at home, and grab-and-go prepared meals for when cooking is not the plan.
Our mandate is simple: be reliable, abundant, fairly priced, and quietly proud of being essential rather than aspirational.
How we price
We do not mark up goods to create profit margins. Our prices reflect the actual cost of goods, the wages we pay our staff, and our operating costs.
When a price changes, it is because our costs changed. We do not run sales, and we do not use pricing to create false urgency. Food access should not be a game.
Our staff
NVC Market operates under the NPE labor standard. All roles include a 32-hour/4-day workweek, full benefits from the first shift, and wages above the NVC Thriving Threshold.
| Role | Monthly Wage Band |
|---|---|
| Cashier / floor staff | V̅ 1,100 to 1,400 |
| Receiving / logistics | V̅ 1,200 to 1,600 |
| Department lead | V̅ 1,400 to 1,800 |
| Market manager (Elena) | V̅ 2,200 to 2,600 |
Where we source
Most of our inventory is managed by Brain via NVC Supply Co. We source locally whenever internal NVC production allows it.
When we say a product is local, we mean it. We do not use "local" as a marketing term, but as a factual description of the supply chain.
